Game Recap: Cowboys 33, Eagles 13

 


The Eagles lost to the Dallas Cowboys on the road by a score of 33–13, marking their second consecutive defeat. Dallas scored on its first four possessions and jumped out to a 24-6 halftime lead, but the Eagles turned the ball over three times. The Eagles had a glimmer of hope in the third quarter when rookie defensive tackle Jalen Carter recovered a Dak Prescott fumble, but it was insufficient.

At 10-3, Philadelphia and Dallas are currently tied atop the NFC East. Include San Francisco in the mix for a three-way tie for the top seed in the conference and a first-round playoff bye. 

Next week, the Eagles will travel once more, starting on Monday against the Seattle Seahawks.Football on the night. After falling to the 49ers on Sunday, the Seahawks are now 6-7 and outside looking in for the postseason picture.

This is how the match transpired.

Initial Quarter

The Cowboys took the lead with a 13-yard touchdown on their first possession. On third-and-2, CeeDee Lamb was found by Dak Prescott for a wide-open score. Although the play was initially flagged for offensive holding, the referees ultimately decided that there was no offensive holding. Philadelphia 0; Cowboys 7

Jalen Hurts stumbled on a quarterback draw play with the Eagles in the driving seat and just outside the red zone. Donovan Wilson recovered the ball after forcing it loose. Hurts had lost fumbled four times this season.

Brandon Aubrey continued to dominate in his rookie season. The worsefired a smooth 60-yard field goal to give the Cowboys a two-score advantage. Throughout his short NFL career, Aubrey has remained flawless when trying field goals. Eagles 0; Cowboys 10

Quarter Two

PHANTASY PUNT! Braden Mann took the snap on fourth-and-two and found Olamide Zaccheaus for a 28-yard gain.





  • FIELD Objective The Birds took the lead when Jake Elliott made a 52-yard field goal that slid just inside the right post! Philadelphia was glad they faked the punt. (10 Cowboys - 3 Eagles)
  • The Cowboys offense kept getting better. Rico Dowdle's one-yard touchdown was barely enough to get the ball over the goal line. After review, Dowdle was declared a touchdown after initially being called short. (17 Cowboys - 3 Eagles)
  • FIELD GOAL Elliott scored again, this time from 44 yards out, just inside the right post. On second down, the Eagles were forced back by a Micah Parsons sack. Eagles 6; Cowboys 17 
  • Michael Gallup scored a 1-yard touchdown pass to increase the Cowboys' lead. The officials raised the flag once more, but this time they decided there was no offensive pass interference during the play. The Cowboys advanced down the field rapidly after Kelee Ringo committed two expensive penalties on the same play. Eagles 6; Cowboys 24.

Quarter Three

  • Safety Reed Following his exit from the game in the second quarter, Blankenship was declared out due to a concussion.
  • On the first drive of the half, desperate for points, A.J. Brown stumbled.Stephon Gilmore knocked the ball out just before Brown's knee hit the ground. The ball was recovered by Damone Clark. But the Eagles forced a three-and-out, and they scored a touchdown!
  • Quarterback Dak Prescott lost possession of the ball after Fletcher Cox knocked it out of his hands, and Jalen Carter was there to scoop it in and score! Carter's first touchdown of the season, a 42-yard fumble return score, gave the Birds a brief reprieve in the game. Eagles 13; Cowboys 24.

  • Once again, Aubrey's automatic conversion came from 59 yards out on a field goal. The Cowboys were forced to the brink of field goal range by two penalties. (17 Cowboys - 13 Eagles)
  • Eagles fourth-and-eight from the Dallas 29-yard line was unsuccessful in producing a point. QB Jalen Hurts threw a pass to DeVonta Smith amid a blitz, but Smith was sucked up by Gilmore and gained just one yard. Earlier in the drive, Smith had his hands on a certain touchdown, but he lost it.

Quarter Four

  • The home team was ahead by three goals thanks to another Aubrey field goal, this one from 45 yards out. Eagles 13 - Cowboys 30
  • The Eagles mishandled the ball for the third time during the contest. It was DeVonta Smith this time. Markquese Bell punched the ball out after bursting up the middle for a big gain, and Malik Hooker was there to recover.
  • In his NFL career, Aubrey is currently 30-for-30 on field goals. For his fourth bucket of the evening and the game's last points, he made a 50-yard shot. Eagles 13 - Cowboys 33.
