2023 (Graduate): Schrader was selected by the Associated Press for the First Team All-America and the Second Team Walter Camp All-America. He was also determined by the coaches for the First Team All-SEC. Chosen as the recipient of the Burlsworth Trophy, which recognizes the best player in the country who started as a walk-on... Schrader leads the SEC in running with an average of 124.9 yards per game through 12 games. He finished third on Mizzou's single-season running list with 1,499 rushing yards on 247 rushes during the regular season, falling just 105 yards short of Tyler Badie's MU record (1,604 in 2021). He was named a finalist for the Doak Walker Award and became the first Tiger to carry for 1,000 yards in a season since Larry Rountree III in 2018. He was just the 15th Tiger overall. With 25 career games played at MU and 22 rushing touchdowns, Schrader is sixth all-time in Mizzou history for rushing touchdowns. He enters the bowl game on a nine-game winning run that began against Memphis on September 23 and has at least one rushing touchdown. The Tigers' career list has Schrader tied for 14th place with 2,244 rushing yards, which he has accumulated in just two seasons at Mizzou. Schrader also broke the 1,000-yard mark for the season with 1,690 yards, which is the sixth-highest total (third-best by a running back) in program history. Schrader's career total at Mizzou is 2,480 all-purpose yards. Schrader has exceeded the century mark in running yards eight times in 2023 and twenty-four times in his career. He holds the record for the longest run of five straight 100-yard rushing games in Mizzou history. The St. Louis native, who is one of the Tigers' six permanent 2023 team captains, won two SEC Offensive Player of the Week awards: first, on October 23, for his 20th career 100-yard rushing performance when he ran for 159 yards against South Carolina (October 21); second, on November 27, after setting a Mizzou career high of 217 rushing yards against Arkansas (November 24). On November 11, against Tennessee, Schrader recorded 200 running yards and 100 receiving yards in a game, making him the first SEC player and just the 10th FBS player in history to do it. Schrader had a career-high 112 yards against No. 1 Georgia on November 4, despite the Bulldog defense coming into the game rated 11th in the nation against the run. Throughout the SEC season, Schrader was outstanding; in MU's eight conference games, he had six 100-yard games. Just five current NCAA running backs, including Schrader, have amassed 5,000 career rushing yards. In 2023, Schrader's 5,313 career rushing yards are the highest of any Power 5 running back. Before joining the Tigers in 2022, he ran for 3,069 yards at Division II Truman. He stands fourth among current NCAA players with 5,313 total running yards through the first 12 games of the season. In addition, Schrader achieved an all-purpose yardage total of 6,172, excellent for third place on the NCAA's roster of active players, surpassing the 6,000-yard threshold. Eleven Tigers, including Schrader, were on the Senior Bowl Watch List.
